Miss Maggie's Featured Local Dog Business is

P.S. Paws Pet Bakery

Cane Creek Dog Park features two fenced-in areas for off-leash dog activities. One side is very large and is for dogs over 25 pounds. The other side is quite modest in size and is for dogs 25 pounds and under. Both sides feature a water fountain for the dogs, dog poop bags, sitting benches, and garbage cans. There are a few agility obstacles for the dogs, but in my opinion there are not enough of them. And when my dog tries to use them the larger dogs chase her and knock her off of them.

The off-leash dog parks are located at 180 C. C Camp Road, Cookeville.

Cane Creek Park

City Lake Natural Area is located off of Bridgeway Drive which is off of Highway 70 just south of I-40 in Cookeville. It features a pretty lake and a 3/4 mile, mostly paved walking trail through the forest to a nice little waterfall area. The pavement does not reach the waterfall. The last part is gravel and a little bit steep. It is a pleasant place to walk your dog and it is mostly shaded for comfort on those hot days. City Lake is also managed by the Cookeville Department of Leisure Services.

Local Dog Parks and Dog Walking Areas

Cane Creek Dog Park

Cane Creek Park is a large park located at 201 CC Camp Road, Cookeville. The Cane Creek Dog Park is part of the larger Cane Creek Park.

Cane Creek Park has a nice lake where you can canoe, kayak, and/or rent paddle boats. Fishing is allowed with a license. There are a couple of frisbee golf courses and a few miles of paved walking trails that go all the way around the lake and pass by the Dog Park area. Dogs are allowed anywhere in the park as long as they are leashed. I prefer walking my dog around the park more than I enjoy the Off-Leash Dog Park area. Maggie and I visit this park frequently. The entire Cane Creek Park complex is managed by The Cookeville Department of Leisure Services.
